motion investigation hypothesis

Hypothesis:

since in the expirement we will be changing the mass of the car the car will go faster  because the more mass the object has the harder gravaty pulls it but also their is the air risistance working on it but the object does not have a big surface area Like when you drop a feather and a coin since the feather has less mass the it takes less time for the air risistance to make the feather fall slower and the coin has more mass so it takes longer for the coin to fall slower with the air risistance and it also needs to be stronger so if the object has more mass like adding more mass to the car it will go faster because the air risisstance will take longer to affect the object.

Humanities Rivers
There are lots of rivers all around the world but what makes a river is it needs to be a move body of water with a start (source) and an end (mouth) and most rivers are part of a drainage basin. Drainage basins need a source which is where the water come from a main river that is what the name explains a tributary a river which gives more water to a main river and a mouth where the river ends (normally ocean). the amazon also has a rapids.

Hummanites celtic and egyptian funneral rites

Celtic and ancient Egyptian funeral rites
Introduction
The Celts and the Egyptians where two very different civilizations, they lived in different areas, they had funeral rites but do they have more similarities of differences?
Similarities
These two civilizations were very different, but they also had similarities like that in both civilizations the place after death was always a better place like in the land of 2 fields it said it was a better place to live and the Celts said that the other world was also better. In the Egyptian culture when the body was being buried they put objects with them that could be of use after death, Egyptians buried daily items like jewellery hair combs. The Celts also buried things of daily use like one site said with a buried person they buried items that were used by doctors so he was a doctor and in other sometimes swords, clothes, but they most of all buried jewellery with people.  Also at the time of their religion it was very strong so what happened in the afterlife was believed by almost everyone
Differences
These civilizations had lots of differences in their funeral rites, one is that since the Celts lived for so long, their burial rites changed like one of them they burned the body another they put them in urns and the last one is that they buried the whole body, but the Egyptians had three different ways they were being mummified or dried out which was completely different. In mummification there were two things the wrapping and the embalming and as I said before the Celts did not have that but something different, the Celts, when someone died, they sacrificed humans or animals to appease the gods. When the body was buried it was also different when Egyptians buried in tombs, mastabas and in the sand the Celts made crains, barrows and platform graves to bury the body.
People went to different places when the Egyptians went to the land to two fields the Celtics went to the otherworld. Also, they were tasked to go two the land of two fields but the Celts thought that everyone went to the other world.
Like many civilizations the Egyptians believed that the body split from the soul but the Celts thought that the body and the soul went together to the other world, they also believed that the druids would take them to the afterlife, but the Egyptians believed the god Ra would take you by boat, but then the Egyptians had to weigh their hearts with maat and have two other things to be done. Their name was written down and their body preserved the Celts believed that everybody went to the other world.

Conclusion
Despite the similarities, these civilizations where very different and had only some things in common. Researching the Celts was very hard to me because there wasn’t a lot of information on their burial rites but when I did they were very different they also lived in very different area on in Europe and one in Egypt these civilizations even though that they were very powerful civilizations that lived a long time. These civilizations are very interesting and also had a very strong religion and I think they lived long because of that.

Hummanities food and agriculture

Egyptian agriculture and food

Introduction

The Ancient Egyptians where a civilization that lived in Egypt next to the Nile River, they are an interesting civilization with their pharaohs and mummy’s, they also had an interesting way of agriculture and lots of different foods.

Agriculture

In ancient Egypt they lived around a dessert so for agriculture, they made little dams so water passed around the plants it was very good. The site says that most countries needed heavy ploughing to get the nutrients for the plants to grow under the soil but since in Egypt the Nile put the nutrients on top of the soil so lots of ploughing was not needed. The plow made by the Egyptians was lightly made and was tied to the horns of a cow. The site also says that cows were generally used for ploughing so milk production dropped during ploughing time and a helper normally a child would lead the cows sometimes with a stick urging them on. If there where no cow’s humans could also push the plow or they would try to borrow a cow and hoeing was also a way to plow the soil. When harvesting season came how much crops they got depended on how much surface the Nile covered in the flooding season the site says the amount of grain made was aproximently 1.5 to 2.5 million tons supposing that most of it was used to farm grain. In ancient Egypt they used animals like sheep, goats, cattle, pigs and geese for things like milk, wool, meat, eggs, leather, skins, horn and fat. The Egyptians herded lots of different  types of cattle like oxen which  where fattened to absurd amounts and then covered in ostrich feathers to be killed and a smaller breed of cattle which was hornless and resisted being fattened these cattle where used in many different ways to help the Egyptians. In ancient Egypt cattle was predominant like many civilizations close to it so the keeping of sheep and goat was secondary but it provided western civilization with one of its best symbols the good Shepard and his flock.
Donkeys and oxen where used for the transportation of goods but sometimes man power was preferred these animals where called beasts of burden. In Egypt they also bread Mules Even though they cannot breed they combined their parents best qualities. The site says Mules at that time were handled by muleteers. Some animals in ancient Egypt where used as sacrifices like oxen and Oryx bulls. Egyptians also had pets like cats and dogs.

Food

In Ancient Egypt the food they ate most was bread and beer supplemented by onions or other vegetables and dried fish, but meat was not eaten often only in festive occasions also it was expensive to herd domesticated animals for their meat only. People sometimes gathered berries for their diet. In ancient Egypt common people ate bred that was adequate at its best but the rich ate meat, waterfowls, vegetables, fruit and wine. They also ate a bread called the ubiquitous bread and it seems that they did not overindulge their food they were really fit. The kitchen was normally on the corner of the houses and was open to air. Cooking was done in a clay oven and also with open fires for fuel they used wood or charcoal even if it was scarce. In Ancient Egypt the quantities of charcoal was small and was normally carried in baskets or sacks. The reshafim site says that to light the fire a special wood was imported from the north and it also said that it was very precious and important temples only got sixty pieces a month. The site says that they used to baked, boiled, stewed, fried, grilled, or roasted but other than that little is known about their preparation. They certainly used salt and oil and probably used onions, radishes and garlic to give their food flavour. They drank beer and rarely wine and for sweaters they used honey and syrup made from unfermented grape juice and other fruit like raisins, dates, figs, carob and the like. The site also said that the root of the chuba a plant that grew in the marshes was also very sweet.

Conclusion

The Achient Egyptian agriculture was very good for the time. They had a certain time to harvest and plant they used different things to help with farming and they had lots of different foods and they even had a place to cook it. The Egyptians where a civilization that lived a long time and there agriculture played a big part in their survival and how they made their food also affected their survival so the Egyptians where a great civilization

Boat reflection

  1. My groups design went well it floated and it looked good.
  2. My groups design floated but it was kind of turning so if it had more straws on the side it would help.
  3. My group worked well for the whole time each of us gave extra ideas and if we could do it we would but not all of them.
